If the foot lifter does not move up or down with the pink lever, please ensure that the arrow on the unjamming knob is pointing UP. 

If the arrow on the unjamming knob is not pointing up, please press and turn the unjamming knob clockwise until the arrow is pointing UP. 

If the unjamming knob is not moving, please remove the thread cartridge first and then turn the unjamming knob clockwise until the arrow is pointing UP. Place the thread cartridge back in and you can now move up the foot lifter.
